20th Anniversary WRCA Finals 2015

Sandhill Cattle Co. Qualified for the Finals again making it their 14th year to qualify.  Tyler has been with their team for the majority of the years, he did compete with another team for a few years and then came back to Sandhill.  This year Tyler had decided to retire from riding the broncs and ranch rodeoing. He decided that he wanted to spend more time with us during his slower times and his body has had enough of the broncs. Tyler has been riding broncs and ranch rodeoing for 16 years. We all anticipated this was it, he was hanging his hat up......

Handsome fellas.

After the rodeo was over we went to the awards ceremony.  Then to our surprise they announced Tyler to win the Top Hand award.  We were so excited, shocked and proud for him!  What an honor and awesome award to win!
So then everyone starts saying Tyler mise well try and rodeo one more year.  Reason being, he has to come back next year and carry the American Flag every night during opening ceremonies.  He agreed that it would be better to try and get qualified and be there to rodeo and carry the flag! So one more year.  Pray he stays healthy and safe riding those broncs for one more season.
Sandhill Cattle ended up Reserve World Champions as well.  It was a great way to celebrate WRCA's 20th anniversary! Tyler gets to celebrate Sandhills 15th year with them, hopefully they get qualified to ring it in!
They boys playing with Daddy's cooler he won!
Blessed with great prizes and honors.
See ya at the next one!! Or at least I will share an update!!

End of Summer Mountain Trip

We decided to make a quick trip to Ruidoso before Tyler got busy with fresh cattle for the fall. We had a nice time and the boys enjoyed themselves as well.

We rode go carts & panned for gems.

My loves.

Played a little miniature golf

Some of our good friends happened to be there while we were.  They came for a visit and we all went to supper.
Had to practice roping skills while on vacay.
The boys had fun riding their bikes on the big porch.

I recommend the Flying J Ranch for a visit.  They serve an amazing meal and perform great music/songs.  The kids really enjoyed it.

Pop gun fights!!

Fall Happenings

Fall arrived quickly here this year.  I love cool weather!!
This is my great friend Linda.  We took a trip down the the Ft. Davis mountains for a women's church retreat.  It was beautiful there and refreshing for the soul.
The cabin we stayed in.
Mitre Peak
A chuck wagon cooked up delicious meals for everyone.
Bullet dog, Bronc and Skye
We decided to homeschool.  It just seemed like what we needed. There have been some rocky days but get through them and learn from them.  Bronc has really started to enjoy it!
Tuckered out Tuck aka Spider-Man
I spruced up this flower bed with some perennials.  Hopefully they make it through the winter.
Last of the fall days and playing in the water.

Fun homeschool trip to the National Ranching Heritage Center. The kids learned how to solve a crime with the help of a Texas Ranger.

Long reins and good ol Rusty.
We made fossils for a science project.
Snacks outside with the dogs waiting for a crumb to fall.
Field trip day to a fun farm.

Bronc and his swing he made. Of course Tucker had to be the guinea pig.
Practicing his shooting.

This day was quite chilly.  We went for a walk and found every mud hole on our way.  Needless to say the boys were cold and muddy when we got back home.
Visiting Daddy at the Feedyard.  Bronc has his hard hat on with fireman coat.  Silly boy.
This sums up Tucker.  He has a very comical side to him.
Happy Halloween

Skye is ready for the winter!!

First fire of the season.

Thank goodness for the warm fire.  We lost power for an entire day due to the ice storms.  Some of our neighbors were out for more than two days.
That is a wrap on Fall.  Winter has arrived, will see what it has in store for us.
