Precious Blessings

Last night Tucker woke up crying.  I went in there to see what was wrong with the little fella. Well somehow he had put his arm inside his pillowcase and got it stuck.  I helped him get free and he just continued to cry.  He acted like he was hurting, I thought maybe his arm fell asleep in the tangle.  I couldn't get Tuck to calm down.  He would just whimper, stretch out like a colicky baby and wanted nothing touching him. There wasn't much I could do to comfort him.  Tyler woke and came in to help but he to couldn't comfort him.  I took my baby boy and walked around and finally he let me sit down and rock him.  I sat with him and prayed for him to feel comfort and also for whatever was hurting him to be relieved.

In those moments of Tucker's despair and hurting he finally relaxed, snuggled up next to me and went into a hard, sweet sleep.  I love those sleeping breathes, the ones that you recognize as a Mama.  I sat there feeling blessed as a parent.  What better feeling to feel your child overcome his pain and just let it all go.  It is such an unexplainable feeling to have your child love you for who you are no matter what.  They know no different but to love you as their protector and provider.  A child's love is so innocent, honest and full force.  They feel comfort in us as parents and look to us for security, stability and love.

Whatever was ailing Tucker must have been uncomfortable.   But in those uncomfortable moments I felt so proud to be a Mama to both of my boys.  I felt totally blessed to have two healthy boys that God picked for Tyler and I.   Children are a blessing from God indeed.  I love just looking at them, they are beautiful creatures.  So full of life, inquisitive, loving, innocent, trusting little boys.  I wouldn't have it any other way!
